Let's start with the exciting stuff, shall we? I have two autographed books by Elsa Watson to give away! Wee-haw!

Dog Days goes to Steven J. Wangsness!

Maid Marian goes to Barb Davis-Pyles!

Congrats to the lucky winners! Steven and Barb, please e-mail me with your mailing addresses!

Thank you to everyone who entered! You people are fun!

I'm going to take a blog break until September. My family and I are even busier than usual this summer, and I want to spend all of my writing time focusing on my manuscript. I'll be eager to hear everyone's news when I return!

What are YOU doing this summer? Or, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, what are you doing this winter? (Note to Al: I am neither "continentist" nor "hemispherist"! That said, your last comment totally cracked me up.) Unfortunately, I have to miss this year's SCBWI Summer Conference in L.A. I want to know whom to feel jealous of, so tell me if you get to go!  ;)

Happy writing and illustrating, bloggy friends! See you in September! Hee!

I'll miss reading your blog, Dawn, but I'm totally behind your decision to spend more time on your manuscript. I have a couple of self-imposed deadlines for July and August, so I'll be working hard with you. No LA conference for me this year. You'll have to excited for someone else. Have a great summer. ^_^

Thanks so much, Dawn! I will miss your Plotting and Scheming this summer, but I suppose I'll "keep calm and carry on." Can you guess my big summer plans? ENGLAND! Castles, dead guys, and Marmite -- I can't think of a better way to spend a couple of weeks. See you in September!

Enjoy the blogging break! Hope you get lots done on your manuscript. I will be at SCBWI LA, so you can check out my blog then if you want to attend vicariously ;)

Have a great summer! Everyone enjoys a vacation now and then - even if it's so they can work on something else for a while. Good luck with your book!

How about anti-antipodean?

Alas winter is all about the daily grind for me.

Have a nice break!

It's summer here, too! :)

Oh boy, I hope I'm up for this. My hubs left this morning for football camp. Hope I can keep these kids busy!! We're staying around here this summer, going to the ocean for a few days in July. My hubby is teaching summer school. And no SCBWI conference for me this year, either, but I think we talked about that at the Western Wash regional conf. :)

Enjoy yourself, Dawn!

Rachel, have a BLAST in L.A.! Yes, I'll experience it vicariously through bloggy friends! I'm excited for those who get to go!

Have an awesome summer/winter!

Congratulations to the winners.

Summer was very busy at my house. My daughter had to practice driving until she felt confident enough to take the driving test. She also had her wisdom teeth out. We took a few trips and I wrote a lot.

Worried about winter...We had very little snow last year and very little rain this spring and summer. I hope we don't get five foot of snow again.
